In April 2005, the Green Team, in conjunction with the Assembly Committee, scheduled an assembly. We celebrated Earth Day, received our Green Team certificate for the year, and also watched a special Wheatland Group – Like Water Drum and Dance. Our specials teachers highlighted Earth Day for a week. The children sang a couple of “environmental” songs with Mrs. Badge during the assembly. In computer class, 2nd graders used a graphic organizer to discuss ways that we can reduce, reuse, recycle. In health class Mr. Long discussed ways to reuse plastic with our 1st graders and metal and tin cans with our 2nd graders. Kindergarten discussed ways to resuse newspaper. Each grade compiled a list to show lots of ways
