Dear Vera Wilsie Families,

As I put this letter together, I don’t see a need for major changes. A strong partnership between home and school in still the key and something I value highly. Good communications is always important. So, most of the letter will remain the same.

One other thought I would like to share is that the “Promise of America” is what we can give to our children. We have a great “Village” that can offer everything to our children. We can and we must provide the “Promise of America” to the children.

A strong partnership between school and home is critical to student success. Providing an excellent education for the students is a complex effort that can only be accomplished through working together. The Vera Wilsie school-community takes pride in how everyone has worked together to support extraordinary opportunities for our students.

I want to do everything I can to encourage “Open Communications” between home and school. When questions and concerns arise, please contact the classroom teacher, staff member involved, or me as soon as possible. Little problems become big problems when misunderstandings are not addressed. Call Vera Wilsie Elementary School (652-6371) to make an appointment for a conference or send a note with your child.

When things are going well, and your child is happy, share your feelings with your child’s teachers. I know teachers and other staff work hard and genuinely care about your children. I know a note from a child’s family would mean a lot.

This is a big year for your child. Please let me know when there is anything I can do to help your child have the best year possible.

Yours For the Kids,
Mr. Steve Barber
Principal
